Rare & Unique Vintage Japanese Insect Relief Vases - Pair (8.5")

Truly a unique, one-of-a-kind find! This is a matching pair of pre-war Japanese art pottery vases (circa 1921-1941) featuring a glossy dark brown finish and striking high-relief panels of butterflies, grasshoppers, and beetles. You won't find another pair like this online-they are beautiful, small-batch artisan export pieces. Both carry the authentic vintage "JAPAN" stamp on their unglazed bases. Approx. 8.5" tall. Good vintage condition. One vase has a stable repair near the upper rim that is completely invisible when turned around on a shelf or filled with flowers/greenery! (See photos 7/8).
