Up for sale is a beautiful, large antique Victorian earthenware wash basin manufactured by S. Fielding & Co. (S.F. & Co. / Railway Pottery) in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. Based on the specific printed backstamp (lacking the "England" country designation), this piece dates 1880-1913. Design: Features a gorgeous, highly detailed multi-colored Victorian floral motif on a cream ground, finished with a heavily decorated, stippled/sponged gold gilt scalloped rim. Dimensions: Substantial size, measuring 15 inches across the rim and 5.5 inches deep. Condition: In overall good antique condition for its 130+ year age. There is normal all-over glaze crazing typical of English ironstone and earthenware from this era. There is one shallow, clean slice/chip on the outer edge of the upper rim (see photos). This flaw is entirely confined to the side profile and is completely invisible from above or when the bowl is turned/displayed strategically. No other cracks, major chips, or repairs.
