Unlike the common mid-century "Etruria & Barlaston" reissues frequently found online, this is a true 19th-century antique potted at the historic Etruria Works over 150 years ago. Verified Three-Letter Date Code: The reverse features the crisp, impressed straight-line "WEDGWOOD" mark alongside the rare three-letter date code "YCD". The "Y" firmly dates the potting to the month of September, and the "D" anchors the production year precisely to 1875. Pre-1891 Production: This plate completely lacks the "England" or "Made in England" country stamps, which were mandated later by the McKinley Tariff Act of 1890, verifying its true early Victorian provenance. Artisanal Craftsmanship: Excellent condition with beautiful uniform age-appropriate glaze crazing that highlights its authenticity.
