The 1916 Plate (Europe Alliance): In 1916, during the historic global conflict, the U.S. was still staying neutral. Canada stood firmly with Europe and Britain (shown by the Union Jack flag in the center). Just like Canada is looking to Europe for economic cooperation today, this plate marks a time when Europe was our main lifeline. The 1917 Plate (U.S. Alliance): This plate marks the exact year the U.S. finally joined the 1914-1918 Great War era alongside Canada. It started a 100-year cross-border friendship that is now being tested by today's modern tariff changes. Condition: Both plates look beautiful on display. 1917 Plate: Excellent condition. The shiny gold trim on the edge is 100% complete and bright, which is very rare for its age. 1916 Plate: The flags, birds, and calendar text are perfectly clear and easy to read. The gold edge shows some normal wear from its 110-year history. Both have clean front faces with normal spiderweb lines (crazing) in the back glaze, but no chips or cracks.
