Beautiful Mid-Century Swedish Art Glass - Excellent Condition Very heavy 8-inch crystal art glass vase featuring an intricate hand-etched/engraved clipper ship motif. This piece features a unique dual provenance that showcases two layers of classic mid-century Swedish craftsmanship. The heavy, thick-walled crystal blank was manufactured directly by the premier Kosta factory in Sweden. It was then hand-decorated circa 1960 in an independent regional engraving studio based in Gothenburg, Sweden, who applied the sailing ship design. Large (8 inches tall, thick heavy base) Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks Minor surface shelf-wear on the polished bottom consistent with age. Clearly hand-engraved on the underside base with "Kosta Sweden" and "Glasgravyr Gothenburg". A fantastic, hefty statement piece for collectors of Scandinavian modern design, maritime decor, or fine vintage art glass.
