Glass Spooner
• Manufacturer: Dalzell, Gilmore & Leighton Glass Co. (Findlay, Ohio)
• Circa: Introduced in 1895
• Pattern Name & Number: Pattern No. 61D Alexis (Also historically known as Priscilla)
• Description: A spectacular, fully verified piece of pressed glass history. This spooner features the signature, highly intricate starburst/flower motif panels seamlessly blended with circular thumbprint accents and a gorgeous scalloped rim. Originally designed to showcase fine flatware on a Victorian dining table, it functions perfectly today as a beautiful standalone centerpiece, bud vase, or lighting accent with brilliant clarity. Item 2: George Duncan & Sons "No. 360 / Snail" Sugar Bowl ( no lid) or use as spooner.
• Manufacturer: George Duncan & Sons (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)
• Circa: Introduced in 1891 (just before becoming a member of U.S. Glass Co.)
• Pattern Name & Number: Pattern No. 360 (Also historically known as Snail, Compact, or Idaho)
• Description: A beautiful, highly collectible, and fully verified example of fine Victorian pressing. This piece features a heavy glass construction with stunning geometric styling and the beautiful, flowing scroll/spiral motifs that gave the pattern its famous "Snail" nickname. This was originally a lidded sugar bowl, but can be also used as a spooner. Spooners were intended to display a family's fine silverware at the center of the dining table. It makes a fantastic standalone vase or a prized cabinet display item.
