Selling a beautiful, rare piece of English history. This is a 10-inch antique ceramic cabinet plate manufactured at the historic Etruria Works by Wedgwood in England. The design is from a Wedgewood tile series depicting children at play. The specific 1880s tile that features this design is officially titled "The Stolen Doll" (sometimes cataloged simply as "Boy with Doll").The illustration was originally designed by the famous Victorian children's book illustrator Kate Greenaway for a series manufactured by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons at Etruria. The reverse features the printed "Wedgwood Etruria England" backstamp alongside the hand-painted artist pattern reference number A4435/3. It features the factory-impressed "3HA" date code, marking its exact production to March of 1898. In very good antique condition with excellent color preservation and no chips, cracks, or repairs.
