This beautiful 1937 calendar advertising plate was originally distributed as a promotional holiday gift by Chas. C. Baker Hardware & Groceries in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba. Manufactured in England by Wood & Sons Ltd. (stamped "Woods Ware" on the back), it features an intricate 12-month calendar border surrounding a classic European stone bridge scene. Condition Report: Front Visuals: The entire front is in excellent, pristine display condition with bright, glossy glaze and absolutely no crazing. Lettering: The gold merchant script at the bottom is perfectly dark, crisp, and clear. Back Details: There are two small marks/chips on the back rim caused by vintage wire hanging hardware over the decades. These are entirely confined to the reverse side and do not affect the front presentation of the plate at all when hung or displayed in a cabinet.
