Beautiful vintage collection of W.H. Grindley & Co. Petalware in the highly sought-after "Almond Petal" pastel mint/pistachio green glaze. Manufactured in Staffordshire, England, featuring classic scalloped edges and the authentic boxed sailboat backstamp (dating from 1936–1954). This is a fantastic near-complete service for 4 to 6 people. The highly prized 10-inch dinner plates and large platter are in beautiful vintage shape, completely free of any brown or yellow moisture staining. Inventory Breakdown (33 Pieces Total): (6) 10-inch Dinner Plates – 3 have very slight, clean crazing. All retain a beautiful, high-gloss finish. (1) 12-inch Oval Serving Platter – Beautiful condition, clean crazing, completely unstained.(3) 9-inch Luncheon Plates (4) 8-inch Salad/Dessert Plates (9) 6-inch Bread & Butter Plates (1 chipped) (1) 5-inch Small Bowl (2) 6.5-inch Bowls (4) Teacups with matching Saucers (3) Extra "Orphan" Saucers Overall Condition: Genuine mid-century vintage. Overall excellent structural shape with no major cracks. There is varying natural, clean crazing as is typical for English ironstone of this era, but the glaze remains predominantly bright, uniform, and clean. There is minor glaze rubbing on the bottom rims from stacking over the years, which does not take away from the beautiful overall look." See photos.
